APLink Login Issue Resolved

 
We managed to successfully change the unique identifier of APLink login from email to the staff APKey. All currently existing staff records in APLink have been updated to follow the APKey that is identified as Faculty ID in the APLink. This change will prevent all login issues due to email address differences from different reports or systems.

 What this means:

We changed the identifier from email to sAMAccountName which is the staff username. For example, my email address could be john.smith@apu.edu.my, or john.smith@staffemail.apu.edu.my, or john.smith@apiit.edu.my. However, the APKey.

The Technical Details:

  • We exported all the faculty from APLink
  • Converted the email to the username
  • Uploaded the file to APLink and updated all existing records
  • Change the APLink CAS authentication settings to follow the Faculty ID
